I am indeed very much so a Christian.
That is going to be my lead in to this blog because of the fact that I will be talking about what I believe is the most astounding fact about the universe, and unless you are aware of my faith and beliefs then my point of view will be misunderstood.
Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson makes an excellent argument of what he believes to be the most astounding fact (link to video below).  He talks about how the stars are the origin of all life comes from the stars and supernovas sending atoms flying in all directions.

My personal beliefs do not follow Mr. DeGrasse Tyson's but I find what he believes very interesting.  I do not agree with him but find an interesting starting point for a discussion.
The entire aspect that we came from atoms given up by the explosions of stars never exactly made sense to me.  I mean the same argument can be made towards my beliefs but I am only going to talk about what Neil talks about in the video.
What I don't exactly understand is how nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen atoms could possibly create life on their own, I mean sure oxygen and hydrogen can bond to form water but water is as useful in space as carbon dioxide is to the human lung.  It will do nothing essentially.  So how life comes out of something as useless as water in space I don't really understand.
Also going farther back if you discuss the big ban theory, the entire idea that something exploded makes no real sense.  I mean how could some random elements (if that is what supposedly exploded) cause life to be created and an entire solar system over time? I don't understand though I do find all of these beliefs interesting.
Until next time, goodbye my readers.

Hello blog readers!
In Civics we have recently watched the movie V for Vendetta in which England has become a dictatorship underneath the rule of High Chancellor Adam Sutler.  There is an anti-political radicallist known as "V" whom has a goal at the beginning of the movie to complete Guy Faux's goal of blowing up parliament.  Furthermore V's large goal is to mobilize the people to challenge the government.
This film did a stupendous job of showing the possible issues with a dictatorship.  Issues such as having a power hungry jerk call the shots on an entire country who has no form of remorse for harm to the people he rules over as long as he gets more and more power.

The anti-hero of V shows some good values and morals through his desire to bring the corrupt government to justice but some rather bad values and morals through his seemingly mindless killing to get revenge for what the government did to him.
It was actually a very enjoyable movie to watch and see how the government put out different plans were plotted and put into action and then stopped by V.  It was a well put together movie and I suggest that all of you watch it!
For now, goodbye my readers!

Hello blog readers!
On Thursday October 3, 2013, my FFP class took a field trip to the old tannery building in downtown Kitchener.  This building is home to multiple tech companies including Communitech and Google.
Our tour started off in Communitech's facilities and we were led through there building which included their personal buisness startup facilites as well as the University of Waterloo's Velocity Garage, which is a tech startup facility dirrectly attatched to U of W's Velocity Residence.
Once we went through that section of the building we headed up to the Google office.
That was probably the most interesting work space I've ever seen in my life.
They have a slide from second to first floor, they have trampoline chairs that actually have a form they go to when you sit in them, they have an entire wall that's a whiteboard, they have a little half baskeball court, and they have a gong in one of the meeting rooms.
Like seriously, who designed this place?
Overall it was a pretty awesome place to go.
Definately one of the most interesting field trips I've ever been on.
Until later, goodbye my readers!

Hello blog readers!
This post is generally about myself and why this blog exists.
My name is Ethan Sloan, this blog is created for the sole purpose of the FFP (Future Forums Project) at my school.
To start up I'll tell you a bit about myself.
My favorite sport is football, though most Canadians are extremely fond of hockey I prefer a bunch of guys tackling eachother on a grass turf field for 4 quarters.
I very much enjoy music (as you may have guessed from my website's title).
I play piano, guitar, trombone, and sing a bit.
I also play football and perform in track and field.
Now about the actual blog project.
The entire use of this blog page will be to express different experiences and pieces of work throughout this semester in the FFP classes.
FFP combines English, Careers, and Civics in a two period span first thing in the morning in the same classroom with the same teacher.
The entire course is based around integrating technology into the classroom.
Until later, goodbye my readers!
